I think the first pet respec is 10s, dunno abot the rest but I expect them to be all very cheap.
A good idea is to have a PvE pet and PvP pet. Since in PvE your pet is tanking, give it more stam and armour, then try to give some resistances (a little of every resistance is not bad). Generally it doesn’t work very well if you have more than 2 skills on autocast (growl always if you are not a beastmaster because your pet will be out of focus all the time and might not be able to use growl on time and losing agro.
For a pvp pet you’ll want to max out mainly shadow and frost resistance so that your pet resist fears and frost novas by mages, this is because people rarelly target hunter pets in PvP, unless you are a beastmaster where the pet is a major threat in itself. Also in PvP it is good to have only one ability on autocast to ensure max focus efficiency. Claw is IMO the best to have on autocast because it is instant and doesn’t have a CD, so your pet can spam it increasing damage and interupt casters a lot.
I personally used a cat (broken tooth) up to lv 60 for both PvE and PvP, that cat used to be on of the best PvP pets in the game due to insane attack speed, which was now unfortunatelly normalised. Then I got a plagued swine from EPL and a wolf. Wolves are great as well, they are very good for PvE and their furious howl skill is a great party buff and increasing your damage in PvP.

GenjurosHow much does it cost?Yea, the pet trainers that give you your stamina, growl, armor, and resistance abilities also have another option. It’s right under the option that opens up the skills purchasing window, it lets you respec your pet and get all their trainer points back.Oh, you can respec them?Depending on what your doing, they save your life. Having high resists in PvP can stop people from nuking your pet into oblivion and then having an easy time killing you. In PvE, especialy some raid dungeons, being able to max out a resist or two can make sure your pet doesnt get wiped in 3 seconds by the first mob with a lot of elemental damage
Pet respecs are cheap, so make use of it to plan for where you have to go.Are resistances even post FTL

GenjurosNo, ’cause you will need some sort of resistances.
Also the Furious Howl skill is great for every party (no so for soloing ’cause you’ll get agro) and pvp.-Dorf Hunter
