Biggest thing is to stand near one of the fires. That way you don’t have to worry about jumping/moving at all. If you can do that and get the crit buff or stand in the light (or all 3!) then that is a bonus, but not having to move means you can chain your spells together much better and get more casts off in a short amount of time.
If you do have to move then move back or forward a tiny bit instead of jumping – the jump takes about a second where moving a touch takes much less time. We tend to get the person with the buff to move to people where possible. One person not dpsing running around is much better than 10 DPS not dpsing running around trying to get the buff.
-RareBeast: What are you trying to tell me? That I can out-tank & out-DPS them all?
Druid Trainer: No RareBeast. I’m trying to tell you that when you have read the Feral Druid Numbers thread, you won’t have to.
Rareone(80 Hunter), Rarebull(80 Mage), Raress(80 Priest), Raredeath(80 Death Knight), Raredude(80 Shaman)
Rarelord(80 Paladin), Rarebones(80 Rogue), Rarelock(80 Warlock), Rarebob(80 Warrior)My moonkin can do decent to high dps on most of the other bosses of Ulduar….but I seem to have trouble on Hodir.
I’m aware of stacking the buffs and I try to do that…but it seems that half my time is taken up by just trying to run to whomever has the skull over their head (because inevitably, it’s never on one of the caster dps who are grouped up together already).
The other half is taken up by just trying to jump to get that debuff off me.
Plus, I have a tendency to cut my cast timer off and I lose the spell I was casting. I really hate this fight.
Anyways…are there any boomkins here who can help me get my feathered tail situated with a better way of getting everything together so that I can max out my dps on this fight?
As it is right now, I cast my instants (mf, is, typhoon, and sf) whenever I move and when I am in the beam and have the skull, I try to shoot out starfire while allowing only 2 stacks of the debuff on me.
